{Happy Sunday}

Happy Sunday!

I'll be spending my day staring at this beautiful face and wondering, "How is my 6 month old so much cuter than me?" I think my kid is cute, but he looks ridiculously in this picture. Like, freakishly cute. I hope you all have that one picture of you or your loved one where you think, "Dang. Look at that face. That's beautiful."

Better yet, I hope I took that picture ;)

{Mesa Wedding Photographer: The Wright House} Karen + Lloyd

This lovely couple was married on May the Fourth. Except to me it was just May 4th and the Star Wars poster in the front lobby was just a token of what hard core Star Wars fans they were. It wasn't until the next day when I was perusing Facebook that I saw everybody wishing everyone else "May the Fourth be with you." How this holiday has eluded me, I don't know, but now whenever I hear the phrase I will absolutely be thinking of Karen & Lloyd.

This is the first sneak peek I'll be doing of this lovely couple.You'll see more of these beautiful faces soon enough :)

Kyoko {Maternity Session}

Maybe its my own pregnancy hormones getting the best of me but this Maternity Session just melts my heart.

Maybe it was the way he was so delicate with his beautiful pregnant wife.

Maybe it was the sexy little yellow dress that I'm dying to wear for my own maternity shoot.

Either way, I can't wait to meet this little one :) Congrats Kyoko and Masi!

Nathan + Lindsay {A Slideshow}

Let me introduce you to one of the studliest guys I know when it comes to proposing to a woman. I mean, seriously, be prepared to have your knees go weak.

Nathan contacted me, along with my husband, to secretly photograph his proposal to his girlfriend Lindsay. This included a train ride from Orange County (where they live) to Santa Barbara, some champaigne, the most beautiful view from a park overlooking ALL of Santa Barbara, and, oh yeah, a musician pretending to nonchalantly be playing his guitar in the park. When Nathan and Lindsay got there our musician friend offered to play a song, and then proceeded to play James Morrison "You Give Me Something", Nathan and Lindsay's song. Nathan handed Lindsay a gift, a photo album documenting their years together. I bet you can guess what happened next.

This is a slideshow I made in honor of our newly engaged couple. How absolutely adorable and in love are they??

Dylan + Stef {Engaged}: Central Coast Wedding Photographer

Meet Dylan and Stef. My first ever engagement shoot for a married couple.

On 11-11-11 this cute couple got so swept up in their love that they went and got married spur of the moment! Now they are planning another ceremony where they can share their love with family and friends. Hence, an engagement shoot for a married couple!

We had SO much fun, we climbed trees, we almost got stuck in the mud in the mustard fields, and we even got some fantastic photos of them jumping off a dock into the ocean! And if you're wondering whats with the pears, we had themes for each scene that we set up! I won't ruin the surprise though, you'll have to see the cute announcements that we'll be working on to find the themes ;) And the Harley? They are basically living my husband's dream of each owning their own Harley. Yeah, they're pretty awesome.

Thanks Stef and Dylan for the fun shoot, the yummy Sylvester's burgers, and for being so photogenic!

Dustin + Janet: {Married}

When Janet emailed me asking if I could be the photographer at her sunset beach wedding she used the terms "not photogenic" when describing herself and her fiance. All week I was in anticipation to see what they would look like, and when I first walked through the bedroom door where she was getting ready last Saturday I walked in to find this:

Tan, super skinny, and flawless skin. Not photogenic? Nice try, Janet. You guys are total babes.

Oh, and did I mention the sunset beach wedding?

Yeah, everything about this wedding was my kind of wedding. From the open wound Janet had got because she went surfing that morning, to the grandmas that were getting down on the dance floor, to the groomsmen in tuxedo t-shirts, it just screamed laid back beach wedding. Great food, great company, and a fantastic looking couple made for a truely amazing Central Coast wedding.

Hilary {Maternity}

One thing I have really grown to love about photography, particularly portrait photography, is how you know every little detail of a person once you're all through. By the end of it I've found that even though I've edited every tiny blemish and every unwanted wrinkle about a hundred times, all I remember are the features of people that I never would've noticed before. You wouldn't believe how many people have perfect teeth, flawless skin, or the prettiest hues in their eyes that I would never have seen had I not been zoomed up on their face for hours.

Take Hilary, for example. Mother of 5 boys, sick with the stomach flu the day before, and still she looks like she should be a super model on the cover of a pregnancy magazine. We're all so excited that after 5 boys she's done the impossible and is having a GIRL! And already this girls being spoiled with mommy's first maternity pictures ever! Congrats Hilary!
